Thank you for building bridges through literacy.
In local coffee shops, libraries, and in our offices, remarkable stories unfold. An Afghan refugee celebrates her acceptance into university, a Brazilian woman passes the naturalization exam and becomes a US citizen, and a Ukrainian woman adds a new series to her collection of favorite reads. These stories happen every day at Literacy Together, where immigrants build bridges to their dreams with English-language support from our volunteer tutors.
Tropical Storm Helene was a stark reminder for many of us of the isolation that comes when bridges are down and connection is sparse. The storm also showed us the power that comes through community – we all seek connection, and this is especially true for the students in our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program as they navigate daily life.
We offer more than just language instruction,
but present a bridge toward hope and opportunity.
Your gift today will:
- Provide essential learning materials for students at all literacy levels
- Train volunteer tutors who offer personalized, one-on-one instruction
- Help aspiring citizens prepare for their naturalization exams
Your Gift of Literacy supports free tutoring for neighbors in our community; together, we build bridges for connection. Please join us in creating a community where everyone has the opportunity to fully participate, contribute, and belong.
