Authors for Literacy 2023

14th Annual Authors for Literacy

We are busy working on next year’s event! Stay tuned.

About the event

The Authors for Literacy Dinner & Auction is the largest annual fundraiser for Literacy Together and features a presentation by a New York Times bestselling author. Guests enjoy a three-course dinner, a presentation by a Literacy Together student, and a keynote presentation by the featured author. The evening closes with a book signing.

Each featured author has penned at least one New York Times bestseller, but their genres range from thriller to Southern comedy to short stories. Because of their wide-ranging readerships, each author brings a new flavor and audience to the event.

Proceeds from the Authors for Literacy Dinner & Auction benefit Literacy Together’s programs to help people rise out of poverty and get better-paying jobs to support their families. Currently, Literacy Together supports more than 300 students and over 4,700 book recipients in Buncombe County.

The Authors for Literacy Dinner & Auction begins with a cocktail hour for general admission guests while our Diamond and Platinum Corporate Partners, and other VIP pass-holders join the featured author for a private reception. During the reception, the author will be available to answer questions, take photographs, and personally inscribe books. Next, all guests enjoy a three-course dinner, a presentation by a Literacy Together student, and a keynote presentation by the featured author. The evening will close with a book signing for the general admission guests managed by Malaprop’s Bookstore.

Please note: Charges made in error, or cancellations will be refunded less the credit card transaction fees.
