Rebecca Massey
Adult Literacy Program Director

Rebecca Massey has been an educator in North Carolina since 2000, working mostly in community colleges as an English teacher and writing tutor. She trained to be an Adult Literacy tutor in 2014 and became the program director in 2018. This is her dream job!
Rebecca has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Auburn University and a Master of Arts in English from NC State University. But her best teachers have been the incredible students, tutors, coworkers, and community partners that inspire her every day. Most students in this program did not have the education they deserved when they were in school, so Rebecca’s job is to make sure they have it now – and do it on their own terms.
Literacy is the tool we use as humans to find one another, so it must belong to everyone. -Pam Allyn
