The Literacy Council has been selected to participate in Give!Local. Mountain Xpress started Give!Local in 2015 and the program raised over $39,000 for 30 area nonprofits in its inaugural year. Since then, each year has seen an increase in the amount raised for local nonprofit agencies.Between November 1 and December 31 the Give!Local website makes it quick and easy to give a little or a lot to multiple causes on the same webpage.
Through our ongoing partnership with Malaprop’s Bookstore and Cafe, we are able to offer an incentive to Give!Local donors who give to the Literacy Council of Buncombe County. Give!Local donors to the Literacy Council who give $50-$99 will receive a $5 coupon for Malaprop’s. Donors who give $100 and up will receive a $15 coupon for Malaprop’s.
Coupons will be available for pick-up at Malaprop’s one week after the donation is processed. They will be redeemable for in-store purchases at Malaprop’s through the end of February and must be used in one visit.
In addition to any tax benefits donors receive, Give!Local rewards all donors giving $20 or more.
